So my family just bought an old avocado orchard and I want to help make it as sustainable as possible. I don’t have any formal training at all, a side from native plant landscaping. Does any one have an experience with such a task? The only trees that are doing ok are on an east facing slope as they have formed a small forest and self mulched. The hole property sits on top of a canyon and is decently sloped on each side. What kind of water retention features could I use in such a scenario? Does anyone know about using California native plants in a Permaculture system?
